This Japanese pencil is considered a high-quality pencil in Japan because it has a tough lead, offers a smooth write feeling, and enables to write fine black lines.
Pencils have a greater potential than mechanical pencils. Unlike plastic mechanical pencils, classic pencils are made of natural materials, so they are more eco-friendly. In addition, compared with the lead of mechanical ones, pencil lead is tougher, can write more lines, and is better in terms of cost performance.
The HB lead (also known as #2 in American graphite scale) is considered a standard in terms of lead hardness and blackness. HB can handle both writing and drawing tasks if they are not too technical.
These pencils have a lovely ruby red body which gives them a luxurious sense: it is one of the traditional Japanese colors called Enji-iro.
